Frankenmuth

I think this was our third or fourth year heading up to Frankenmuth for a weekend with our clergy family friends.  Each year the boys are more excited about it and attempt new levels of independence.  The biggest difference this year was their swimming - totally at ease in the pool and playing with friends.  We were also able to give them a bit more freedom in the arcade, not as much as they thought they had but those are good conversations :)

This year we had a bigger group than ever so we had our own meeting room where we could have board games and hang out which was really nice.  This is the time of year that clergy find out they are getting moved in July.  Some of the families there this weekend are preparing to move and this is a wonderful way for their kids to know that wherever they live, and whatever church their mom or dad serves, all these kids and families will be in their life!  So while they will have a new house and go to a new school, some of their friends will stay the same.  What a gift.  Our only move was when the boys were 1 and 3 so it wasn't that hard for them.  When that time comes again, which is probably won't for awhile, it will be nice for the boys to have some friends that have been through that and will still be at Frankenmuth to play in the pool.  :)
