TBall Update

So sorry - I know you have been wondering for days "What's going on with Casey and the TBall Giants?"  I know I know. 
Well, not too much actually.  It has been raining almost constantly and lots of games and practices have been cancelled.  But there are a few things to share. 
We missed some games (that actually weren't rained out of course) while we were in Wisconsin and when we got back found out they were transitioning the kids to coach pitch.  Woah, what?  No tee?  At TEE ball?  They play 3 innings, and with the tee, these move along at a reasonable pace.  And even with that, every kid is done after the 2nd inning.  They are playing in the dirt, rolling in the grass, generally facing the wrong direction, etc, etc.  So to add coach pitch in on the 3rd inning feels sort of like, um, torture.  Each kid gets 5 pitches and if they don't hit it, they get the tee.  Lots of kids end up with tee, which is not surprising.  We assumed Casey would too, mostly because he had never been pitched to.  So he walks up to bat, coach asks if he's ready, he says he is, here comes the pitch, he swings and he hits it!  He was stunned!  He ran to first grinning ear to ear.  I didn't have the camera ready or anything, as I am sorry to say it had not occurred to me that he would hit the ball.  We were happy for him but sort of chalked it up to beginners luck.  Next game, they did two innings of coach pitch (again, torture) and Casey hit the first pitch both times - he is 3 for 3 on coach pitch!  He is pretty thrilled about it.  And we are excited for him :)  Anyway, we have a few games left in the season, and its been really fun.
