It was his bed until September of 2008 when Sam's rowdy sleeping habits became too much for me (leaping to the side of the pak n play at the foot of our bed due to the sounds of thrashing around because I thought he was waking up only to find him totally zonked was making me crazy). Jeff and I sat down to figure out what we should about sleeping arrangements. We were still stumped when our pal Donna emailed that her grandson was outgrowing his Thomas toddler bed. So Andy came back, disassembled the crib to move it across the hall for Sam and Donna delivered the Thomas toddler bed for Casey. Since then the crib has been Sam's.
When we moved last summer the boys starting sharing a room and so the crib and the Thomas toddler bed became roomies.
For about the last 6 weeks, Sam has been uninterested in going to bed in the crib. He wants to sleep in other places and does, and then we have to move him into the crib after he is asleep. We were trying to decide what to do next when we got another email from Donna asking if we could use the bunk beds they were ready to hand off. You betcha!
So after some logistical gymnastics, the bunk beds are in. And after 4 and a quarter years, the crib is disassembled and stored away. Sigh. The end of an era.

I just noticed that the woodwork piece (?) that I made for Casey, the C.J., was on the crib! Gotta love 7th grade Wood Shop...
