We were fortunate to spend 9 days up north this July, some with Jeff's family and some on our own. We had a great time! The boys sleep like crazy when we are there so that we can too which is awesome. We enjoy time at the river house we stay in, and also going all around the area for other things to do. Casey and I read a chapter of Harry Potter every day which helped us make some grey progress in the 5th book. There was swimming almost every day. Lots of grilling and ice cream and of course, the annual snipe hunt. Here are some pictures...
The boys like to run around the outside of the house in their underwear. What are you going to do. This would be a one time, hilarious moment, except that Duncle Ug had to name it this year. And once you have an event called the "Undy 500" it is hilarious every day.
Lots of game playing...
The boys each got to bring a new lego set up north and that was hours of entertainment. Casey attempted his biggest set yet, and had some real frustrating moments with it. He never completed it, but he did get close and almost entirely on his own.
A friend from church gave the boys snipe hunting kits - including the green gloves and a head lamp and some written out tips.
Great beach at Clear lake - ended up there almost every day. Especially grateful for it the day we tried to go to Lake Huron. The biting flies were so terrible we could not stay and headed back to trusty Clear Lake.

Casey is ready for the snipe hunt
The snipe hunt just keeps getting better. This year they heard a lot of them, and Jeff almost caught one. But by the time the kids got to him there was nothing but a split bag and a bunch of feathers. Maybe next time!
