Road Trip sans Parental Units

As our blog faithful know the boys have an annual time with the grandparents while Jeff and I take our youth group on a mission trip. This year it was decided the boys (and grandparents) were ready for this togetherness to take place on the other side of the lake.  I told the boys about this about 2 months ago and the response was positive, they were excited.  They have been to both towns and both houses a lot, they have cousins in both towns and they, too, felt they were ready.  There were a few times in the next month that Sam would clarify "So you aren't coming with us?" with varying degrees of concern, but overall he was excited.
We traveled up to the Mackinaw Bridge to meet Grandpa.  The transfer was smooth, I only teared up a little, and they were off!  4 days in Northern Wisconsin and then all the grandparents met for lunch and another smooth transfer.  4 days in Madison and we all met up again in Chicago to complete the circle tour.  Safe to say the boys had a great time!!  Lots of adventures and outings and fun time with cousins.  Here are some of the pictures we got while they were away -

Reunited!

So Mom and Dad had about 48 hours at home before the mission trip and one day after.  It was very quiet!  But no worries, we know how to party!

Yeah, thats right, we cleaned Jeff's office.  This was about the midpoint, after going through all the books and clearing the shelves of not-books.  Then we took on the rest of the space - it really was quite a project!

Then, we had a great trip with 17 teenagers and 3 other adults to Motown Mission in Detroit.  A great week of farming and construction!
