Merry Christmas

At church on Christmas Eve

We had a really nice Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. We had two services at church, one with the kids pageant and one later. We packed a lite dinner for between and picnicked in Jeff's office. Both services were great - see below for details on the kids pageant - and the second service with the candles and the Communion was just beautiful. After the second service we went out for pancakes, which was fun. Once we were home, we put out snacks for Santa, and reindeer food on the lawn and got the boys to bed. Then Jeff and I spent a really long time on "some assembly required" toys - thank God we did that! Some food prep for Christmas Day and we finally got to bed.

When Christmas falls on a Sunday, we have church even though we would not normally have church on Christmas Day. So Jeff was up and out early and I let the boys sleep long enough to have time for just a few cheerios before we were out the door. We told them that Santa would come while we were at church. We had a great service with more people there than we expected. I left as soon as it was over to make sure Santa had arrived :) When Jeff and the boys pulled up, they saw the Angry Birds pillows in the front window and knew Santa had been here. But here is where they are so different.... Casey starts yelling and cannot wait to get out of the car and comes running into the house, while Sam is outside greeting Obie at the gate and meandering in with his artwork from church.

We got started on the presents and every thing they opened was the greatest gift ever - they had so much fun! So many people were so generous to them! We had some lunch, and later we had some dinner and other than that the boys just played played and played. Sam slept for a few minutes too :)
