We have a sidewalk in front of our house and Casey has gotten really good at riding this 3 wheel tryke. He loves to go up and down the driveway and down to the corner and back. He is getting better at the steering and DOES NOT need help - "I do it myself Mom". Sam is loving pushing the popper car. He likes to be pushed if he is sitting on it, but if he is walking behind it and you touch it to help steer he will risk life and limb to brush your hand aside - the pre verbal "I do it myself Mom" I guess. And, in an exciting development Sam has starting stringing a few steps together - five is the most so far. He didn't seem to notice at first, but yesterday when he did the 5 in a row he was mighty pleased with himself. So imagine the new morning routine of the walk around the block with Casey on the tryke and Sam pushing the popper car - good times! In an unrelated story, the boys have been napping well.
One new thing that we are enjoying very much is that our new house is on an ice creanm truck route. We made the rookie mistake of getting excited about it and buying Casey an ice cream the first time we heard it coming, so now its just an expected ritual of the day. My parents visited last week and I think Grandpa was out a wad of cash by the time they headed home. On the last night they were here, the truck came by pretty late, after the boys were asleep. But of course Casey heard it and came out of his room crying that we were going to miss the truck. Yep, we sure are buddy. Maybe tomorrow.
The boys have made fast friends with some other kids on the street - here is Sam hanging out with Maya.
