New Cousins!

Casey is proud to announce he is now a first cousin - twice! Casey is already a second cousin to uncountable little people in Wisconsin and Illinois, and now he gets some firsts.

On March 1, Duncle Oug and Aunt Libby had Carter Blake at 6 lbs 8 oz and 19 inches long. Everyone is happy and healthy despite Carter being almost 4 weeks early - lucky Aunt Libby!

On March 11, Aunt Cailin and Uncle Nicolai had Amalia (ah-MAY-lee-ah) at 7 lbs 5 oz and 19 inches long. Everyone there is also happy and healthy despite 27 hours of labor. Way to go Aunt Cailin!

It's funny that both babies were 19 inches, because Casey was too! Except that he weighed 9 lbs 9 oz - in case we had forgotten given his normal shape now, these numbers remind us that he was a square baby :) Now that these babies have arrived, it's our turn next ... again.... already!

OK, to be totally honest, Casey doesn't actually seem that excited. I tell him about the cousins and he looks at me like he can't understand me. (Whatever, he understands when I say cookie) So maybe its me that is excited - for all our sibs and sibs in law and for our parents who all get a local grandchild and for Casey too, because he just doesn't know yet how fun cousins are! He has a boy cousin he can wrestle and talk Packers and get muddy with and a girl cousin who can explain why girls are like that. Hooray for cousins!

Congrats to all! I was beginning to wonder about Cailin. Now it's time for them to start blogs so I can keep up with their adventures!
