We got Jeff back home from Ghana a day and half later than expected and a bit wiped out as a result, but he made it. Hooray! The group was able to stay together despite delays and cancellations and running through the airport in Amsterdam. We were glad to have him back and he was glad to be back! They had a wonderful time in Ghana, and I was completely jealous that he got to go again. Someday we will take the whole family.
Here he is making fast friends as always.

This is the King Jesus Orphanage where we visited last summer as well. Since then, Penny Project money has payed to have their courtyard paved, and purchased new mattresses and bunk beds for all the kids.

These are some of the women the Penny Project is helping to start their own business in Kumasi. They are women with HIV and AIDS who are trying to afford medicine and schooling for their kids. Last time we were there, we pledged to help them start their business and this time Jeff got to see their new building and sewing machines.
While he was away, Casey and I would look at his picture everyday and practice "daddy". It still sounds like "dada" but it sounded great when he exclaimed it upon seeing Jeff step off the bus at church. Jeff thought Casey looked bigger and he is probably right. They were so happy to see each other, it was pretty cool. Since he has been home, we have gotten the routine back to normal mostly. Jeff is still a little jet lagged (more a result of sitting in an airport overnight we think), but it could also just be his wife's incessant snoring that is keeping him from getting rested. It's a real toss up.
So, it was finally decent enough outside to play out in the yard in all the great snow. Casey seems to really like tromping around out there in his boots and snowsuit. Good thing!

After we played awhile, Casey walked over to the gate and pushed it open and walked on through. I caught up to him to see what he was up to ...
I don't know if you can really hear what he says, but it is his newest word - "church". He said "I'm going to church" so I just kept following him, and indeed, he was.
