The DeClutter Project Interrupted

In the fall I started reading the very popular book on tidying by the Japanese expert Marie Condo.  It was a good read with a simple plan to declutter your home.  We were excited to get started in January and declared 2016 the year of decluttering our house.  It was also around this time that we sort of came to grips with the idea that we were going to be here in this community, this house for a long time.  It was seeming obvious - from the way things were at the church to the things people would say to Jeff.  And we were alright with it - we have come to like this little town and could see ourselves raising the boys here.
In January, we got started and by the end of February, we had gone through all the clothes in the house, all the books in the house the kitchen cupboards and a few spots that collect random stuff.  We had moved 18 bags of trash and given away 30 bags and 12 boxes of stuff to the Free Store at church.  We were feeling lighter!!  We were excited to keep going and live in a decluttered house.
And then we got the call.  The call that comes from Jeff's supervisor that tells us he is being reappointed to a new church July 1.  What?  We were completely stunned.  It took us a few days to even understand what was happening.  Then it was announced to our church and they were stunned too.
The declutter project has continued with a new focus of moving out - and we are still grateful we got that jump start.  Hopefully we can make our new house feel uncluttered, at least for awhile.
