Meet Bruce

We have been talking about getting another dog for awhile - people say it can be good for the older dog and that the new dog will learn some habits from the older dog.  Obie has been slowing down - he is 13, mostly deaf and starting to get cataracts.  He is still sweet and snuggly though!
So we went to the Humane Society and met a few dogs.  We had 2 dogs meet Obie and Bruce's meeting was a lot better than the other one.
So far, things have gone pretty well - Bruce and Obie are not really buddies per say but they aren't mean to each other.  we hope they will get to be friends over time.
Bruce is strong - so so strong.  He is fast and loves squirrels.  He climbs and bounds around with so much energy.  The boys love playing with him -he plays fetch, tug of war, and chase - he will play all day.  He is protective - barks when the door bell rings.  He gets excited when someone arrives - Obie doesn't hear these events anymore.  But after a few minutes, Bruce chills right out and is very sweet.  We are happy to have him with us!
