Smack dab between the boys birthdays was a Friday night so we had a bowling party! Two sets of lanes, two cakes but one party. Not sure how long we will be getting away with this but I hope it's awhile.
Both boys got to invite some classmates and a few classmates brought siblings so we ended up with I think 17 kids. We all had a lot of fun!
We are realizing a new challenge - in first grade, we just do not know the parents of the kids Casey is friends with. We both volunteer at the school so we know most of the kids but just haven't met the parents. So we tried to explain to Casey that even though his school buddies said they were coming, we really didn't know if they were. And many of them did not come. Casey didn't seem to notice much since there were a lot of kids around, and his closest school friends did make it. Sam's class was well represented but I see those parents every day so it was easy to follow up and get RSVPs. Anyway, it was really fun and we have another birthday party in the books.
