My parents were in town for a couple nights and while they were here, they both volunteered in the boys classrooms. My mom spent some time in Casey's school during their Reading Workshop and enjoyed hearing all the kids read to her. My dad was the "Secret Reader" at Sam's school. At the end of their day they have story time and sometimes they have a surprise person show up to read. Sam was completely stunned when my dad came in to read. Completely. It took him awhile to recover actually. The teacher asked "Who knows this man?" and Sam raised his hand. "It's my Boppa" he said. My Dad read "The Peace Book" which is a favorite around here. Sam said he was very surprised and happy that Boppa was there.
