Conversations with Casey
This week, our church is hosting 31 men and women that are experiencing homelessness. They eat and sleep at our church and there are evening activities. The four of us have been eating dinner there each night to get to know the people and be hospitable. The boys have been getting to know the people - Sam likes giving high fives when we get there and Casey will tell anyone who asks about his day. Tonight before Casey went to sleep we were chatting about the day and I was telling him how lucky we are to have a house to live in. I asked him if he knew that the people we had been having dinner with don't have a house to live in and that's why they are staying at our church. He furrowed his brow and said "But the house across the street is empty - that could be their house". I said that was a really nice idea and that when we pray to Jesus we pray that they will have all the things they need and a house to live in." He laughed, "No mom, Jesus doesn't help them, Daddy does!"
