Casey John is 7 weeks old today and I hope he would agree with us that his life has gone pretty well so far. We have all gotten to know each other pretty well and are communicating better about our needs and moods - smile. We have just returned from our first of 2 big road trips this summer and things went really well. Casey does not like to be alone in the back seat but as long as he has some company he does pretty well most of the time. We all get crabby being in the car too long so we cannot really begrudge him a few crabby episodes.
In his short life, Casey has been to 2 weddings already and enjoyed them very much. This weekend was a wedding reception for his Uncle Doug and Aunt Libby who got married in April on a cruise. He got to meet many relatives and we practiced everyones names on the way home, so he will remember for next time. He also got to see Dad's hometown a bit - the Methodist church, the Hodag, the sign that commemorates the 1990 National Championship Mock Trial Team that his Dad was on. We also visitied with some of Jeff's high school friends which was nice. At one point we took a picture of these 5 old friends ... there were 8 little kids among them!
CJ is smiling more and more these days and this morning we caught it on film at last. We wonder what is going through his head when he smiles ... is it, like people always joke, gas? Or does he recognize us? Or are we smiling and he is mimicking us? Hard to say, but its pretty cute! Thanks for checking in with us!
