Signs of a Great Winter Break

In the morning, the alarm clock will go off for the first time in 16 days.  It's been our first real winter break since its our first year with a kid in real, everyday school.  And its been awesome!  Here's how we know:
1.  The garbage and recycling are overflowing and ready for pick up Tuesday - this is a good sign because it means we were blessed with many boxes and packages and good food too
2.  A reasonably clean basement toy area - the boys were able to find new homes for all the new toys and get rid of a few things to make room
3.  A cleared off dining room table - we made space to share meals with family and friends over break
4.  Walls that look totally bare - One of my favorite things about Christmas is the cards that come in the mail -I LOVE Christmas cards!!  I want every one of them to have a picture and I really love the Christmas letters.  We put them up around the house and put every picture up.  We must have gotten a lot this year because when I took them all down the walls looked so bare.
5.  Five loads of laundry Saturday -means we didn't do laundry over break :) and
6.  No black socks in the laundry means no one went to work over break
7.  The sleeping in - the boys have been on a a playdate marathon throughout break - old friends, new friends, their cousin, family camp friends, church friends and kindergarten friends.  They have played hard and slept hard too.
8.  The boys are looking forward to going back to school - we are so lucky that both kids like school so much right now.  They have loved a break but are ready to see their teachers and friends.
Hope we can get up in the morning :)
