This year we gave Santa our toys for other kids at this visit, so as to avoid the debacle of last year (where Casey found the toy left for Santa in the guest room in February and Santa Tony had to come back). This was really hard this year - finding toys to pass along. Casey is very attached to his toys and even if he hasn't played with them in months (or years!) he is sure he will want to soon. Sam was tossing random objects into the bin with no problem, but then Casey would come up behind and take them out. It was actually a little weird - his emotional reaction to even talking about it was very surprising to us. We didn't want to back down completely on it, but this was really hard for him. Eventually he did come up with a few things he could part with, but there was a lot of tears and a lot of mom and dad tag teaming so we didn't lose our patience. It would make more sense if we had just moved or had a big loss, but we didn't so we were perplexed by it. God please don't let him be a hoarder. It already seems inevitable that Sam is going to be a streaker and I don't know if we can handle both.
