We got our lists of supplies and we were off to Target, one of our favorite places :) When Casey went to preschool I grabbed a red backpack of the rack by the register at WalMart one night - he wasn't even there and didn't have any say, but he has used it for two years and likes it. I told him before we went to the store that he would be using it again because he likes it and its in good shape. He agreed!
We got everything we needed, and then it was time to pick Sam's back pack and Casey's lunch box. Much excitement in the aisles!! Casey debated for awhile between the Star Wars and the Scooby Doo lunch box. He doesn't really watch Scooby Doo but the lunch box is shaped like the van and it is pretty sweet. In the end he went with Star Wars and has been carrying it around like a purse ever since.
Sam has been telling us he wants a pink back pack for months. So it wasn't shocking that he gravitated toward the pink and purple Dora back pack. While I have no problem with his love for Dora, this back pack is really pink and purple... so I did offer him some other alternatives just to be sure. But he was already sure. Somehow I don't think he will still want this one in 2 years when he is starting kindergarten but only time will tell :)
Tonight we went to Casey's school ice cream open house and found out what class he is in - we don't know anything about any of the teachers so the name doesn't mean too much to us. We did meet another family whose son is in his class so that was nice. They have been in the school awhile and like the teacher so that's a good thing! The mom also said the kindergarten is light on boys this year, so she was glad to meet us. In the morning we go to Sam's open house and find out who his teacher is. The wonderful teacher Casey had at this 3 year old program is no longer there so we are in for something new there as well. Tuesday will be here before we know it!
