The Countdown to School: Shoes and Jeans

Taking the boys to the mall can be a real adventure, but today they did great!  Everyone got a new pair of gym shoes and a new pair of jeans.  Casey doesn't have a pair of jeans without holes in the knees.  And based on my hunt through the 4T bin this morning for any good ones for Sam, he never has.  Everything they got today is too big.  Being between sizes must just be the way life is with kids.  I don't want to get the one that fits perfect today because it won't fit by Halloween.  As you can see, Sam's jeans are currently really big.... oh well, it won't be long!

Back to school shopping is not for the faint of heart.  I saw some moms of older kids in all out battles today and since ours still actually cry and scream, I needed to avoid that.  They did a great job though of waiting for me to get two (sometimes 3) choices, and then making their decision.  Casey had a hard time with the shoes because the other choice was a sweet navy blue converse low top.  But he decided the shoe tying might be too much to take on this week, and went with the velcro Sketchers.  Sam was so excited that his shoes light up, he didn't care who was on them.
Later this week, we will venture out for the school supply shopping.  We got the list from the school and Casey is very excited to pick out his lunch box.   We will keep you posted!  One week to go!
