Sam crawled! He did it once, on tax day, across the landing upstairs. He was pretty excited about it as was his cheering section of mom, dad, and big brother. He hasn't done it again yet but its nice to know he can! He continues to cover a lot of territory rolling and has added a little push with his legs mid-roll. It's pretty funny to watch. He can get to any place he is trying to get even if it is a little bit of a round about route. He still mostly prefers to stand though and has started cruising around the coffee table. This is already starting to change Casey's life as Sam can now got to a toy he wants even if it is in Casey's hands :) On the eating front, I can say with confidence that Sam eats more per day than Casey does. He continues to try anything we put in front of him. So far the only thing he wasn't thrilled with was peaches, and we will just try that again another time.
On the sleeping front, Sam is stillup one or two times most nights. Sometimes he is up between 5 and 6 am thinking its morning, but we are working to break him of that habit. Twice he has slept through the night without waking up at all until after 7 am!! Those are great nights, and we hope there will be many more of them soon :) He is almost always happy and smiling, and still loves Casey more than anything.
We had a beautiful day Friday and headed to the zoo with Casey's pal Kieran.
Casey is just seeming more and more like a big kid - he loves to help with all kinds of things, today he took out a bag of garbage in his Tonka truck! He has perfected the phrase "I do it myself". This has varying degrees of success, but he sure likes to try! He also has such a fantastic imagination. He loves to be outside in the sand box where he has various story lines going on with his scoops and cars. As mentioned above he is not the most avid eater these days - sticking mostly to PBJ and fruit and cereal and toast. It would be nice if he felt inspired by Sam's eating habits but time will tell. And he is still the world's best sleeper - still doing 10-11 hours at night and 2-3 hours during quiet time. It's a gift :)
The other night Jeff and Casey and I were talking upstairs after Sam was asleep, and got onto the topic of when Sam was born. Casey said that he came to see mommy at the doctors, and Sam too. We agreed and then he said "Me and mommy read Clifford" How does he remember this stuff!!
Casey loves to go upstairs when Sam wakes up "I comin' Sam!" and when I get up there I usually find him in the crib with Sam, both of them giggling.
So we are all well and happy that actual spring weather is on the horizon. Thanks for checking in!
