You Were Watching

Dear Casey and Sam,
It's unlikely that even Casey will have any memory of this week, but I want you to know that you were watching when Barack Obama was inaugurated as our 44th President. It was a really wonderful day on so many levels and our country seemed to swell with hope and inspiration. He isn't perfect, and he won't get to do everything, but we are just excited to have someone in office that we feel gets it - understands what regular folks are dealing with, and is a real problem solver. He is someone who seems to be able to motivate others to do better and be better and we hope the world will be a little better off - more peace, more sustainability, more kids in better schools, more people back to work, more people able to feed their families - because he was President. You might not ever really remember him, but he will shape your world view in exciting and unpredictable ways. And when the history books write what they will, you can say you watched it happen.
