This was harder than it looks!
Amalia will be just 4 months next week but she is quite the traveler! She came over (with her mom and dad) to see us for the 4th of July, and we were all so glad to meet her!
She is as beautiful as she looks in her pictures - her huge eyes are a sight to see. She is very quiet - we didn't even hear her cry for the first 48 hours - unlike her cousin Sam who is sort of a fussy guy. She loves to look around at everything at smile at people. Her dad makes her laugh a lot and she likes to keep an eye on where her mom is. When she did cry she sounded pretty polite about it, again unlike cousin Sam who goes from 0-60 in about 2 seconds. Anyway, it was great to see all 3 of them. Cailin and Nicolai are great parents who are clearly quite smitten with their sweet baby and who can blame them!.
We went to the fireworks and to the zoo and took naps and played "pass the babies". Casey showed off his charming side as well as his not-so charming side - we kept reassuring Cailin and Nicolai that Amalia will never go through whole 2 year old thing :) "Seriously, look how sweet she is, she'll never do this to you."
It's hard to remember now what we did when we would visit each other with no kids involved. It was certainly quieter and I think we stayed up later and went to museums. We did reminisce a bit about when Jeff and I traveled to Copenhagen to see Cailin and Nicolai in 2000, we all agreed it was a good thing we did that then :)

Amalia was looking Sam over - she is 11 weeks his senior and will have much to teach him about the ways of the world in the years to come :)

The happy family at the fireworks
Cailin caught a family photo for us that we have needed to get and it is on display there to the right.
