Much Anticipated Company and the Wedding of the Century

Poolside - doesn't he look like he's 4 years old already?

We are home from a great trip up north - good friends, good food, a cool rented condo and a wonderful wedding celebration for Carl and Anna (see Carl and Anna to the right). The "much anticipated" part was seeing our friends from St. Louis, and finally meeting their son, Alejandro (see Blogger Pal Alejandro to the right). We always have a great time with them and we don't get to see each other enough. Last time we were together we were a month away from having Casey, and they weren't trying to get pregnant yet. So, lots has changed! Since this is Casey's blog, I will try to focus on his experience. He did a lot of looking Alejandro over the first day, but by the middle of the trip patted him on the back and said "baby".

The forced "pretend you are friends already" picture of Alejandro (5 months) and Casey

We rented a minivan for these 4 adults and 2 children to travel in and our conclusion is that families cannot go anywhere together. These cars have no room for all the stuff you need. We made it, and there were only a few times we wondered if we would or not -one of these moments produced a great new verse for Blessed Assurance - we'll have to sing it to you sometime. Our condo was awesome but not huge and Casey enjoyed entertaining everyone. He did not really enjoy the provided crib so we were doing the family bed - luckinly we had a king size bed! This kid is all over the place while he sleeps! Wow. We are coming home pretty wiped out as a result. Oh wait, Casey's experience, he slept fine. Casey got to meet some of Jeff's friends from seminary that he had not met before - Eric and Mira (again to the right - this was like a blogger convention) and John and also spent time with godmother April and her husband Vince.

The wedding was that of Casey's godfather, Carl and his fabulous wife Anna. We love them both very much and are so happy to have it all be official now. We are so excited to have Anna living in the neighborhood now!

Casey with the bride and groom

So, it was really fun to see everyone. A couple folks left addicted to El Padrino, a Venezuelan mafia game that generated statements that taken out of context were a little bizarre - "Why would you wait to kill him with the knife when you could have just blown a cake up in his face?" I tell ya, hanging out with all these pastors is just a riot!
So, congratulations Anna and Carl! Welcome to the neighborhood Anna! And thanks for making the big trip to Mark, Yanela and Alejandro! We hope to see you again soon!
