10 Months Tomorrow!

Casey will be celebrating his 10 month birthday tomorrow in the midst of one of the busier weeks in the life of Pastor's family - it's Holy Week. We have had church every night this week and we have heard some great speakers. Casey has spent some real quality time in the church nursery, and 2 of the 4 nights he was the only kid in there! Talk about some one on one attention. He seems to really like it in there - on his own or in the chaos of a bunch of kids - he is easy going that way.

So for the 10 month update: As seen in the video in the last post, we have definite movement, but no crawling per say quite yet. The other night he got on all fours and went backwards for a second; that was cute! We have 4 teeth, 2 on top and 2 on bottom, and a few more coming evidenced by the drool of late. We have made pretty serious progress in the eating department, with our 5 pm feeding in the high chair with a veggie, a fruit and a sippy cup. We will start doing this at the 11 am feeding as well very soon. Unfortunately we are not making any progress with sleeping. For his first 6 months Casey slept about 9 hours in a row almost every night. Since January, that has happened about twice, with most nights involving one, two or even three wake ups. Sometimes he is hungry, other times just wants to be held, almost all the time is back to sleep in just a few minutes. But we are ready for the 9 hour stretch to start again - anytime now.

Just watching for Dad

Casey is fascinated with electronics - cordless phone, cell phone, remote, whatever. He just studies them and pushes every button. When the phone starts to make the off-the-hook sound, he giggles and that is pretty funny. He is also starting to experiment with his volume capabilities - this kid can really make some noise if he wants to. And he is pointing, usually at random things or if you point at him he might point back. Today though he saw Jeff coming across the yard and pointed at him while smiling - amazing!

And now for the arial view of everyone's favorite hair-do

wow, case has definitely got the babyfro in full gear. now, if we could just add a headband and put a tennis racket in his lap, then we'd be dangerously close to a little john mcenroe. and who wouldn't love that? honestly. getting the fro is the hardest part. the rest can be handled by digging through jeff's dirty clothes. casey, have you told your parents how cute you are lately?
